Fall

After getting back to Utah in the fall, Luke settled in to school and I began looking for a job. I ended up getting a job at The Center for Change. It's an eating disorder treatment center, and I absolutely love it!

A week after I started working, Luke and I went up to a cabin with his sister Cassie and her family for a "fun" weekend. Well, it turned out to be not so fun when I got in a 4-wheeling accident. Man did this experience really open my eyes up. I had never even broken a bone in my body before this, and I ended up in the hospital for a few days with a lot of sratches and bruises, and a broken leg. Poor Luke watched the entire accident happen, had to deal with a crazy claustrophobic wife who refused to get tied down in a stretcher, and watched as I got life flighted away. He met me at the hospital, and needless to say, he now HATES hospitals with a passion after spending three nights in my room with me. I still cannot remember anything from the accident or the couple of days afterwards while I was in the hospital, but I hear I was a handful. So THANK YOU to Luke, the doctors, the nurses, my mom, family and anyone else who had to deal with my craziness (which I blame on all the morphine and pain killers!). My sweet Mom flew out and took care of me for two weeks afterwards. We were so lucky to have her here, I don't know what we would have done without her. She is such an awesome Mom and I love her so much!

I had a pretty rough recovery but I am now doing good and walking around with nothing but a limp, rod in my leg, and some frankenstein looking scars from surgery.

While I was in the hospital Luke got this lovely snapshot of me. When I first saw it, I was like "Ahh! Why would you take that!" But I like that I can have a before and after picture. It's crazy how much the human body can do to heal. I now just have two really small scars above my eyes that you can hardly see.

Haylee! I can't believe you went through all of this! I am so so sorry. I'm so glad that you are healing well. What a blessing that you don't have very many scars. I still wish I could have done something to help. It all happened around the time Blake was life flighted and hospitalized at Primary's. I love you and want to see you soon.

glad you are doing better! I wish we lived closer so I could've kept you company while you were at home recovering. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon though :)

Oh I forgot how sad your accident picture was! By the time I saw you you were looking exponentially better but still way beat up. I'm so glad you are basically totally fine now-lets just get that annoying screw out of your knee!
