11 Months

Lily is 11 months old now. I can't believe she is only a month away from being one! She is still such a fun baby and just loves to smile all of the time...except when she is screaming at you haha. She is starting to get her own little sense of humor and does little things that make herself laugh or make us laugh...in which case she will do them over and over again.

Her big triumphs this month were dominating the stairs. She can go up them very quickly now and can go down as well, but is still a little hesitant and wants us watching her when she is going down. She was obsessed with the stairs for about a week and a half and we spent most of our time going up and down and up and down.

She also took her first steps this month! I guess one night she was just feeling really courageous and kept trying to walk back and forth from me to Luke. She took two little steps in a row without falling over and was so proud of herself. She apparently got enough of walking that night though because she has only done it a couple of times since and still prefers to crawl.

Halloween was so fun with her! Although she did not really understand what was going on, she loved being outside, loved watching all of the crazy dressed up people, and is now obsessed with suckers:) Lily dressed up as a zebra and Luke was the "zookeeper" who carried her around. This is the first time that I have been able to get Luke to dress up for Halloween, thanks to Lil:)

Our 10 month old

Life has been a little crazy so I missed Lily's 9 month update:( These are some things she has started doing in the last two months:

-crawling normal a little after 8 months.

- Her first real word is definitely "Dada". She says it all the time and knows what it means. Luke has been out of town the majority of the last couple months and always talk to Lily on my phone. So she is getting a little confused and has started calling my cell phone Dada too. She has associated the garage door opening with Luke so whenever she hears it she gets really excited and yells DADA!

- Says Mama or mom when shes upset, hungry, or wants me to pick her up. Wont say it on demand though.

- Pulls herself up and walks on everything.

- LOVES her walker and will crawl to get it so she can walk the places she wants to go.

-Is still really scared of standing by herself without support, even though she has pretty good balance.

-Has become a very picky eater. Does not enjoy baby food and spits it at us when we try to feed it to her. Likes finger foods and fruit the best.

- Favorite food is mandarin oranges, cheese, and peas.

- Is starting to have little tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants.

-Is still very stubborn. Hates having her fingernails cut or getting dressed.

-Loves animals, animal books, and animal sounds.

-Still really loves people and gets so excited when friends come over or we go somewhere.

-Thinks it is so funny when you crawl around the floor with her, it makes her laugh hysterically.

-Points at things that grab her attention or that she likes.

-Gives high fives.

-Has 6 teeth. 4 top and 2 bottom.

She really is such a happy and fun baby. We love her to pieces and are both excited and sad that she is getting so old and turning into a little toddler!

8 Months

Lily girl is now 8 months old. We love her more than ever.

Some things about her...

-Her army crawl has turned into a swimming like motion on the ground. She rhythmically moves both arms and legs at the same time to scoot across the floor. She really as gotten pretty quick. She gets really frustrated when we try and teach her to crawl real, and drops her belly to the floor and scoots away from us.

-She can go from laying down to sitting up (and vice versa) really easily now. This probably doesn't seem like a big deal, but when Lily masters new tricks she tends to do them in her sleep, so she has been waking herself up lately and cries until we come in an help her lay back down.

-She wants to eat anything we are eating and gets mad if we don't give her some.

-Likes food she has to chew more than baby food.

-Sleeps 10-11 hours straight at night

-Favorite thing to do is go swimming at the pool, so we do that a lot.

-LOVES kids and gets especially excited when she sees little boys. She frantically starts to wave and scream at them. (I think they remind her of her cousins who are so good at playing with her)

-Seperation anxiety has arrived full force. Wants mom to hold or sit next to her all the time.

-Does not like to play by herself anymore and will fuss until you play with her or pick her up.

-Has two bottom teeth.

-Has her first ear infection:(

She has discovered the piano and loves it!

7 Months

I cant believe my baby is already 7 months old. I feel like before I know it we are going to be celebrating her first birthday. She is getting so big and learning so many new things. It is so fun to watch her develop.

Some things about Lily at 7 months

Army crawls all over the place.

Babbles a lot. Says dada, baba, and yaya the most. Also says hi.

She got her first tooth, and her second lower tooth is just breaking through.

Eats all kinds of food, and started eating some big people food, like cheerios, peaches, peers, and little pieces of bread.

Loves music, jumps up and down in church when we sing because she is so excited.

Spits and jumps when she is excited.

Loves when she gets attention from new people.

Sticks her tongue out a lot.

Is really restless when she drinks bottles, gets upset if you dont let her play with (aka pull) your hair while she eats.

Always wants to be holding something.

She hates getting dressed/undressed even more than she used to.

Loves to watch mommy cook.

If you say hi and wave to her, she will wave back.

Bath time is her favorite time of the day:)

On the 4th of July.

What a little cutie:)

Summer Fun!

We have been able to do a lot of fun stuff already this summer and it has been so great! We visited my grandparents in St. George. I left my camera there on accident, so I dont have any pictures, but we had a lot of fun. Lily loved having more people around to give her attention. She also loved looking at and listening to grandpa T talk.

A few weeks ago Luke had to go to Idaho for work and Lily and I went with so we could see some friends. It was so fun to see everyone!

We hung out a lot at our friends, the Walters, and Lily loved playing with Sam. he also taught her how to army crawl:)

We just got back from my parents house in Chicago. Lily is so much more interactive than the last time we went, so it was a blast for her to play with my sisters kids. We spent the 4th of July at my grandparents cabin in Wisconsin. Lily LOVED all the attention she got from my family.

Lily with Aunt Jess. This picture is blurry, but I love it because this is how Lily was almost our whole trip. So happy and smiley towards anyone who acknowledged her.

Swimming in the Pool
Reading books
Playing with Evrett
Swimming in the lake all by herself:)
Luke wakeboarding

We still have a pretty busy summer ahead of us and we cant wait!

6 months

This crazy girl is 6 months old now and boy are we in trouble! Her personality seems to be getting stronger and stronger everyday. She is so fun and so exhausting at the same time.

Lilian's 6 month stats:

Length: 27.5 in 95%
Weight: 16 lbs 15 oz 75%
Head: 44.9 cm 95%

Rolls all over the place.

She scoots backwards really well, getting up on her knees and then pushing with her arms. She frequently gets stuck under furniture and toys now.

Loves to sit up. Sat in the cart at the grocery store for the first time and was so excited.

Still doesn't have any teeth...or hair.

Is addicted to Baby Einstein.

WAS sleeping 9-10 hours for a couple weeks, but her new found motility is causing her to wake up a lot more and get stuck in some really weird positions.

Takes baths in the big bathtub and loves to kick and splash on her tummy.

We introduced a sippy cup about a week ago, thinking she would only be interested in playing with it right now and not sucking it, but she loves it. Most of the water she sucks ends up on her clothes and the floor though.

This silly girl HATED pacifiers the first 5 months of her life. Even if she was happy before we put one in her mouth, she would get so mad afterwards. At church a couple weeks ago I decided to give it a try again and she loved it...WHAT? Now it's her new favorite thing:)

We have been loving the nice weather and going to the pool a lot. Lily is still pretty hesitant in the pool, but its still fun to take her!

Lily scooting backwards across the room. She discovered the entertainment center today and all the cool cords inside of it through the glass (behind her to the right). She spent forever trying to figure out how to get them. Luckily she wasn't successful...yet:)

Lily and her pretty blue eyes:) She looks so much like Luke to me in this picture!

Playing with her favorite toy. I can't get enough of this pretty smile!

5 Months

Lily turned 5 months a week ago. This month has flown by! Lily learned a lot about a week after her four month birthday. She learned how to roll from her back to her tummy, and she grabs at everything. When I say everything, I literally mean EVERYTHING! It has become close to impossible for me to do anything while I am holding her because she wants it all. My hair is now permanently in a ponytail, because when it's not she is ripping it out of my head. I can't wear any earrings that dangle at all because she tries to grab them and pull them out of my ear. It's like her hands can never stay still. Even when she is nursing or drinking a bottle, she attacks our faces and grabs our lips and pulls. Such a funny little girl:)

She gets up super high when she does tummy time now, getting her entire tummy off of the floor. A couple days ago she started scooting a little. She will pivot herself around depending on what toys she wants, and if one is out of her reach she will slowly be able to make her way to it by pushing herself with her legs. I wonder how long until she actually crawls?!

She has one spastic leg right now. She constantly raises it up and drops it, over and over again. When she gets really excited she does it really fast and its pretty funny.

She doesn't quite sit up on her own, only lasting a couple seconds without flopping over. She's getting close though!

We took her swimming for the first time. It took her about ten minutes to warm up to it and then she loved it. It made her super crazy and hyper the rest of the night.

She does not like clothes...especially pants and headbands. She has learned how to pull her headbands off so they never last very long and I think the pants restrict her movement or something. In the morning I get her dressed with a headband on and give her a toy to play with. By the end of the day, she has lost her headband, usually has no pants on, and is smothered in toys. This is what she usually looks like by the time Luke gets home from work....

We started her on solids this month. She was always really watchful of me when I ate and freaks out if we drink something while holding her because she wants it. We will let her have little sips of water here and there and she LOVES it. Her favorite foods so far are carrots, peaches, apples, pears, and sweet potatoes. She doesn't really care for bananas and HATES green beans. She kept making herself gag after she ate them.

She will randomly sleep for really long stretches at night. I'm hoping it will become a regular thing soon. Last night she slept for 10 hours, from 8:15 to 6:15! Such a sweet little girl to give her mommy such a good mothers day present:) We skipped her third nap that day, and I thinks that is why she slept so well. She was so tired the whole evening without the third nap though that I'm not sure how to consistently do it unless I am able to give her constant attention to keep her from melting down.

We went to Park City for our anniversary. Lily loves being outside so she had a lot of fun riding up the ski lift and walking around.

Lily is such a fun age right now and has become such a good baby. As fun as it is when she starts to learn new things, I wish I could freeze time for a little bit so she stops growing up so fast!
